First, I flew from Tokyo(Narita) to Frankfurt
by plane.I stayed one night at the hotel
in Frankfurt. The next day. I went to Basel in Switzerland on ICE(with packed bicycle). From there. I went to Dordrecht(Netherlands) by bicycle for 12 days along the Rhine. I stayed at Dordrecht's hostel for 2 days and went to Rotterdam. After that, I brought my bicycle to Vlissingen by the Dutch railway.and then I run by bicycle for 10days along the coastline in the Netherlands. Because it is my first European trip,I can not go without reference cases. It seems to be good for me to go with someone's precedent as reference. I am planning to imitate the trip that someone else went on. I read the next web page over and over. "Why did I start a European bicycle trip." When the best season is?. When is the best season for traveling to Europe?. Not only in Europe but everywhere I think summer(around the time of July and August) is too hot for camping trip. In addition,The campgrounds etc are crowded and all other prices will rise also. In particular, the aircraft fee will be very expensive. However, in winter, the high latitude is added, and the daylight hours are very short. In winter, activity time is short, cold, lonely.Summer is not good, and Winter is also not favorable. So I will travel there in June just before summer. In Japan, this period is said to be "Tsuyu" and there are many rainy days.In Europe,It does not rain in that season, sunshine hours are long.During this period,I can get a lot of activity time. In addition, Europe has lower humidity than any period in Japan throughout the whole period. I should be able to do activities everyday comfortably. And about rain measures. I was worried about rain. Please look at this figure It is a table of annual temperature, rainfall and rainy days of Frankfurt, Basel, Amsterdam. Looking at this table, Europe is cool, rain doesn't fall so much. In Tokyo, there is little rain here in May, Temperatures, there is no cold without hot, it is the most pleasant season throughout the year. Let's compare the climate of May in Tokyo with the climate of June in Europe. Tokyo's rainfall in May is about 128 mm. Frankfurt is 60 mm. Amsterdam is about 66 mm almost the same as Frankfurt. In May of Tokyo, we feel little rain. The statistical precipitation of the three cities is half that of Tokyo. We need little worry about rain. How to transport bicycle. Three of Lufthansa, KLM and JAL are a candidate. Free baggage size of KLM and Lufthansa is maximum 158 cm. It takes an additional charge in size over. On the other hand, JAL is 203 cm so I can carry my bicycle at no additional charge. Next, JAL ticket is Including German domestic railroad free tickets (rail & fly ).In short, I can use a free rail ticket from Frankfurt airport departure and a free train ticket to Frankfurt airport departing from all German stations. "This includes ICE". If in trouble, I will be able to received supported in Japanese. This is why JAL's bicycle transportation system is satisfying for me. And besides that. This is my first European trip. and for me long flights and transit stresses have a bad influence on the schedule after arrival. Therefore,I will use the direct flight of JAL. |
